If Materazzi did say what is being bulit up in the press...then I would have no problem myself, or easily hiring some cash desperate thugs for 100 euros to break his knees and have a go at his tongue. If he claims insult is part of game, then let him reap the ramifications. Obviously the honour of the game is not enought to keep players from sticking to the game and not each other...so maybe physical pain will enlighten them (him) a bit that sport is sport and leaving insults at home is an obligation.
