Question for people who think Fabio Grosso dived against Australia? Quote | Reply

People keep saying Fabio Grosso dived against Australia. But when I watch the replays carefully in slow motion, it appears clear to me that he was really tripped. Here's what I see:

Fabio Grosso is running in a certain direction. Neill slides down to block Grosso's way. Grosso attempts to leap over Neill - first, Grosso hops with his right foot over Neill, and that's successful. Then Grosso begins to put his left foot over Neill, but as Grosso is doing that Neill raises his left hand and uses it to hook on to Grosso's left ankle. Then Grosso falls as a result of Neill's hooking his ankle. Then Neill puts up his hand, and looks at the Ref as if he didn't do anything.

My question for people accusing Grosso of diving is: are you denying that Neill used his left hand to hook Grosso's left ankle? Because that's clear to me.

This is a World Cup message board. If you feel the World Cup is too old to talk about, why are you here?

Most critics still aren't over it. I picked up the latest issue of World Soccer, and I kept reading harsh criticism of how Grosso "dived," when in reality Neill used his hand to trip Grosso.

Yet nowhere do I read that Malouda dived for France in the final. And Malouda clearly did dive - there was literally not even any contact on him when he dived!

Its either the cameras didnt catch the right angle or the referees screwed up. Its that easy. Why argue? There's no point getting anything across. You crazy football fans werent even ON the field, you're just watching the games through the BOX!

Any angle you look at it from, you still see Neill’s hand trip Grosso

But people who are biased against Italians choose to pretend they don’t see it.
